about
Wat Pa Tesarangsee UK
“If you light a lamp for somebody, it will also brighten your path.”
Wat Pa Tesarangsee UK is a newly formed Buddhist temple operating as a non-profit religious organisation in Barton on Sea, New Milton with the aim to promote the Buddhist teachings from a long established temple named “Wat Pa Huay Lad” in Loei province, north-east Thailand.
Our registered charity number is 1160688. We hope to grow and mature into a centre of Buddhist teachings for the South West of England, as there is currently no significant Buddhist temple present in the area ( New Forest/Bournemouth/High Cliff/Southampton ).
The way to peace

“Meditation enables us to discover the real nature of our being and the nature of existence.”
Newcomers are very welcome and will be shown the basics of meditation on their first visit.

The Basic Teachings of Buddha which are core to Buddhism are The Three Universal Truths; The Four Noble Truths; and The Noble Eightfold Path.

Offering Food to the Monks
Offering food is one of the oldest and most common rituals of Buddhism. Generosity is a core practice of Buddhism, and one of the traditional expressions of this is through offering food to the monks and nuns.

Kathina Ceremony
2019

Kathina Ceremony is a significant Buddhist tradition as it is a specifically scheduled merit-making for specific monks. This means the merit-making specifies that it is being done once a year at a time only between the first day of the waning moon in the 11th month to the 15th day of the new moon in the 12th month, for the total of one month in the lunar calendar, for only monks who stay in any temple for the three months long Buddhist Lent.
We would like to invite you all to join the Kathina Ceremony. Join the food offering to the monks and have a free meal
